Your feedback / Parent View

As a school, we are always keen to know what our stakeholders think about us and we offer different ways at varying times throughout the year to gather views and opinions.

For our pupils, we listen to their ‘Voice’ through our School Council and we play our part within the wider Transform Multi Academy Trust through our representation at the Transform Children’s Parliament.

For parents and carers, various opportunities are offered for them to share their views with us. Aside from having an ‘open door’ policy to speak to class teachers, we have our ‘Meet the Team’ meetings at the beginning of each academic year and our regular Parents’ Evenings usually in October and February. In the summer term, our governors launch their annual Parent Survey which offers a good opportunity for those who complete it, to share their ‘what went well’ (WWW) aspects of South Wilford and their ‘even better if’ (EBI) too.

Governors meet at least once each term to analyse the school on many different measures from the very obvious and important aspects such as pupil attainment and progress and the quality of teaching to health and safety and the school’s financial position. Their feedback is shared with parents and carers through a termly Governor newsletter.

As well as sharing your views with the school, there is a web-based facility called Parent View which provides an opportunity to tell OFSTED what you think about South Wilford Primary School. Parent View seeks opinions on 12 aspects of your child’s school, from the quality of teaching to our effectiveness in dealing with bullying and poor behaviour. OFSTED will often use this information when making decisions about which schools to inspect and when these inspections will take place. By sharing your views via Parent View, you will be helping our school to improve and you will be able to see what others have said about us.
