Wishing friends and family of everyone @sthwilford a very Happy Easter!
We were thrilled to host a family from Ciji Primary School, our link school in China last week. Kitty and her parents were on holiday in England and decided to come and find out about our school. They looked round the classrooms, played with the children at break time and ate dinner with us in the school hall. They also brought us some lovely presents, including Chinese fans decorated by children from Ciji School, and some pen-pal letter replies for Mrs Aldridge’s class.
Sport Relief Money Raised!
When all the Sport Relief sponsorship money was eventually counted up we could not believe the grand total - as a school we managed to raise £4,700! Another huge thank you to everyone who took part and helped to raise such an amazing amount of money for charity.
From the School Council and Mrs Lazenby.
Sport Relief 2016
On Friday 18th March we raised lots of money for Sport Relief by running a Sport Relief Mile round our school field. It was great to see so many parents taking part and running alongside their child for a good cause (and also the teachers doing a tug-of-war!). We have already raised a whopping £2051, smashing all of our previous fundraising totals, and there is still more sponsor money coming in! A massive congratulations and thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success.
Chinese New Year
To celebrate Chinese New Year, and linking up with Ciji Primary School in China, last week each class did different things like Chinese dragon dances, writing Chinese numbers, learning songs, making fans, dragons and lanterns. We had noodles on Thursday for school dinners and other Chinese food. On Friday we had an assembly where each class showed what they had done to learn about Chinese New Year.
China Link School
We have now made a new link school in China called Ciji Primary School. It is massive and very bright: yellow, grey, and blue. We had an assembly and we watched a video that they had sent us of their head teacher, their English teacher and some of the children. They showed us all their different hobbies like singing, dancing and Rubik's cubes and we were obsessed with the big dormitory and showers they had because some children sleep there. They are all very good at speaking English. We are so excited learning about what they do and other stuff.
Children in Need - Pudsey Day!
The We had an amazing Children in Need day, and we managed to raise more than we ever have before, a whopping..... £1,134.78 (and there are still a few more pounds coming in!). So a big thank-you to everyone who bought things from the Pudsey Shop, who entered the Pudsey Picture completion and who brought in money for our silly pyjama fashion show and bouncy castle. This amount of money will make a huge difference to the lives of lots of children. Well done!
From the School Council.
Children in Need
The School Council have been very busy raising money for Children in Need.
We organised a Pudsey Picture Competition – here are the winners meeting Pudsey!
We did an assembly for the whole school with Pudsey about Children in Need.
We decided what to dress up in on Children in Need day for our fashion show catwalk and to have a bouncy castle for everyone to go on.
We will let you know how much money we raised in total soon...!
We have been learning about Rwanda
In our school council meeting today we have been learning about Rwanda. It looks good but doesn't have much of clothes and not a lot of nice things in the classrooms. We have been looking at a head teacher at a school in Rwanda his name is Jean and he is very nice. We hope to find a lot about his school this year.

Red Nose Day 2015
Friday 13th March was Red Nose Day and we were very "funny for money"! We all had so much fun dressing in red, wearing our red noses and having our faces painted before school. We also got to throw wet sponges at Mr Hampton and Mrs Pick in the stocks at lunchtime; they got very wet! We ended the day with a comedy show in the hall, which certainly made us all laugh. In total, we managed to raise a whopping £750 for Comic Relief (and we had a great time doing it!) so a great big thank-you to everyone involved.
