We got some new class pets; some creepy crawly caterpillars! We were very excited to see how they had grown and changed each morning, especially when they made their chrysalis’. We can’t wait until they emerge as butterflies! We have been on minibeast hunts to investigate their habitats in the wild garden and on the field, and read lots of stories by Eric Carle (including The Very Hungry Caterpillar, The Very Busy Spider, andThe Bad Tempered Ladybird). We explored some of the instruments in the Creepy Crawly Calypso song and made some amazing minibeast arts, crafts and clay. In PE we crawled along to the Ugly Bug Ball and explored different minibeast movements, travelled through tunnels and recreated a caterpillar to butterfly life cycle using the parachute. Outside, we had to help Incey Wincey Spider get down the spout!
