SEND

Special Educational Needs

Supporting neuro-diverse pupils, and children with additional needs, is a priority for us at South Wilford and we are committed to ensuring every child has the best possible experiences at school and no child misses out! At South Wilford every teacher is a teacher of SEND and every leader is a leader of SEND. Supported by the SENDCO, class teachers and teaching assistants are responsible for ensuring the children in their care have access to an educational experience which is inclusive and enables all children to achieve their full potential, regardless of any barriers to learning they may face. All teaching and support staff receive regular and thorough training on how to support children with additional needs and neuro-diverse learners in a variety of ways, using classroom adaptations to support them in accessing the curriculum and making good progress.

Mrs Abigail Todhunter is our Special Educational Needs & Disabilities Co-Ordinator (SENDCO).

Please direct any enquiries regarding your child's SEND to:

office@southwilford.nottingham.sch.uk and state for the attention of Mrs Todhunter.

You can also speak to our SEND HLTA, Deana Bull who supports many of our children and works alongside Mrs Todhunter.
