Residential visits are a wonderful way for the children to experience new activities and visit new places. They help the children develop independence and many other important life skills.
In Year 2, the children take part in a 'Staycation' where they camp out on our school field. Enjoy Fish n Chips and play team building games. It is a safe and simple introduction to residential visits and is often the first time many of the children have spent the night away from home.
In Year 4, the children visit Kingswood near Doncaster. This is two night residential where the children get to experience activities such as rock climbing and orienteering.
In Year 6, the children spend three nights away at Walesby. This marks the end of their time with us at South Wilford and celebrates all their achievements. They get to try a wide range if activities and experiences including: canoeing, climbing, axe throwing and much more.
The children's teachers accompany them on these trips along with the staff who lead the activities. They are a real highlight of the year and we encourage every child to take part.
